Public Registry of Builder & Property Information

Property Registry

The property registry is an online source of information about warranty coverage or the appropriate warranty exemption for homes built in Alberta since February 1, 2014.

To search for a property:

  1. Choose the appropriate search parameter from the drop down menu under “Search By”. Choose from civic address, rural address, ATS number, lot/block/plan, LINC, application ID, unit ID, or builder.
  2. The search fields will change to align with the search parameter chosen.
  3. Enter information in the fields provided to conduct a search.
  4. The registry will return a list of results in a table at the bottom of the page.
  5. Scroll down to the bottom and click on one of the results to see more information.

Homes permitted prior to February 1, 2014, or files in process not yet approved, will not appear in the property registry.

The New Home Buyer Protection Act does not apply to homes built on or relocated to federal lands, including First Nations reserves, national parks, and federally controlled improvement districts. These properties are outside the scope of the Act and should not be included in the Public Registry.
The municipality will display as Out of Scope if the property was previously registered in error.
